Peter Wright is the first man into today’s final of the Melbourne Darts Masters defeating
Daryl Gurney 11-4. The Scot was never behind, winning the first three legs before gurney got on the board in the 4th with his highest finish of the match, 40. Wright failed to hit a 180 in the entire match, but he consistently out-scored Gurney throughout, and out finished, 11 out of 20 on the doubles recording the second-best finishing stats of anyone this week.
Gurney won the 6th leg to pull it back to 4-2, but that’s as close as he got to Wright, Snakebite reeling off the next three with little fightback from the Northern Irishman. Superchin stopped the rot in leg 10, and picked up leg 12 as he tried to get himself going in the match. However, Wright held his throw superbly all match, and closed out the game with 3 more straight legs.
Snakebite plays the victor of the second semi-final between Phil Taylor and Simon Whitlock.
