Martin Thomas has started the fifth phase of the Online Darts League by leading Group A with four wins from five matches.
Thomas only lost his match against former Tour Card holder Richard North (4-1) on Monday. He did win against Carl Wilkinson (4-3), Connor Scutt (4-2), Aaron Turner (4-1) and Michael Warburton (4-3).
Scutt and North follow behind Thomas with six points each. Wilkinson and Warburton took four points on opening day, followed by Turner with two points.
Each player will play once a day until Wednesday against the
other players in the group. The winner of this group will advance directly to Saturday's final.
The numbers two and three in the rankings will play a new group on Thursday night and Friday night against three new players. These are Jim Williams, Matthew Dennant and Rob Collins.
The numbers five and six of the standings on Wednesday, also play a new group against new entrants. In this group, Darryl Pilgrim, Graham Usher and Tony Newell are the entrants. They come into action on Thursday afternoon and Friday afternoon. From the evening group, three players go through to the final and from the morning group two, so the final consists of six players.
Unlike the first edition of the Modus League in 2020, the games will not be played online via a webcam connection, but at a location in Southampton, England. The matches can be followed via Online Darts' YouTube channel.
