The final of the 2023
World Matchplay on Sunday night will be between
Nathan Aspinall and
Jonny Clayton. Both have never won this prestigious tournament in Blackpool.
Ready for the winner is the Phil Taylor Trophy, as well as a check for 200,000 pounds.
The losing finalist goes home with £100,000 in prize money. With the prize money, both players can make a nice jump in the world rankings.
Whoever takes the World Matchplay title will rise to fifth place on the PDC Order of Merit. Aspinall started the tournament as the world number nine and has already climbed to eighth place. 'The Asp' can climb up another three spots with a final victory. Clayton was seeded seventh prior to the tournament and is virtually number six in the world.
