The seventh tournament of the PDC Development Tour 2023 has been won by Sebastian Bialecki. The Pole beat Leighton Bennett 5-4 in the final. Bialecki was successful twice before on the Development Tour and also won a Challenge Tour tournament once before.
He beat the likes of Craig Galliano (4-1), Ciaran Teehan (5-3) and Nathan Girvan to reach the final. In the final match, Bialecki grabbed a 4-1 lead, but Bennett came back to 4-4. In the last leg, Bennett left two matchdarts unused, before Bialecki as he hit double 16.
The Development Tour is the youth circuit of the PDC. This tour is open to players aged 16 to 23. Players who turn 24 during the season are allowed to finish their year.
At each Development Tour tournament, there is a prize pool of £15,000 to be distributed. With the prize money, a ranking is established. At the end of the season, the numbers one and two receive an invitation to the World Darts Championship, plus a Tour Card for 2024 and 2025.
