Cameron Menzies threw the highest average at the sixteenth Players Championship tournament of the season on Thursday. 'Cammy' threw a 108.86 per turn average in his match against Josh Rock.
Rock himself threw a high average in another match. He prevailed in his second match against Alan Soutar 6-4 thanks to an average of 106.56 per turn. That average is good for third place on the list of highest averages at Players Championship 16. A second highest avetsge went to Stephen Bunting. The former Lakeside champion produced an average of 107.49 in his opening match against Simon Whitlock. Bunting won that game 6-3. 'The Bullet' also threw an average of 104.79 during Players Championship 16.
Tournament winner Mike de Decker also managed to record two excellent averages. In his second-round match against Jose de Sousa (6-1), "The Real Deal" threw a 105.22 average. Later, De Decker threw 104.87 average in his won final against Ricky Evans (8-2).
Dirk van Duijvenbode threw the highest Dutch average during the sixteenth Players Championship tournament of the season. His average of 104.70 in his second round match against Gerwyn Price (6-1), was good for seventh place in the list. The top-10 with highest averages during Players Championship 16 is completed by Michael Smith (104.41), Connor Scutt (102.95) and Gary Anderson (102.68).
