Jonny Clayton is the final player through to the semi-finals at the 2020 UK Open in a 10-9 victory in a game that 'The Ferret' shouldn't have won.
Clayton was 5-1 up and seemingly cruising against Jamie Hughes but 'Yozza' came back to force a decider against the Welshman.
From there Hughes went on to miss eight match darts as he almost gifted Clayton the win in the end from a seemingly unwinnable position giving the amount of opportunities the Tipton ace had to win it in the end.
After Hughes missed his final attempts at double 10, Clayton pinned double 16 to claim the tie and at the scene of one of his best runs.
In terms of stats, Clayton lead the averages with 91 compared to 90 but Hughes hit more 180's with eight compared to three as the latter hit his stride towards the end. Clayton as expected though led on doubles hitting 43 percent compared to 21.
Could he go all the way to the final and even go one better in Minehead at the
UK Open this time around?
