𝘾𝙇𝙀𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙎 𝙒𝙄𝙉𝙎 𝘼 𝙏𝙃𝙍𝙄𝙇𝙇𝙀𝙍 Gabriel Clemens wins the first ever all-German World Championship match, beating Nico Kurz 3-1! What a game that was 👏
Gabriel Clemens has set up a third round clash with defending champion Peter Wright after seeing off his fellow compatriot, Nico Kurz at the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship.
It was a 3-1 win and a classy display from Clemens who hit six 180's and a 95.7 average en route against the highly touted Kurz.
It was close to start the tie with Kurz missing one set dart at the bull in the deciding leg and Clemens punished on double 16 to head into the lead.
The lead though was cut with Kurz producing some astonishing finishing in the form of 160, 123 and 161 in an incredible spell to claim the second set 3-1 and go 1-1 in sets.
But Kurz failed to make his chances pay in the next set and Clemens was back on track with a 3-1 set win.
He went towards the finishing line from there with a good spell which included a 108 checkout and an 81 checkout for an 11-darter. He was one away but had to wait a bit longer with three missed match darts after hitting a fifth 180 and Kurz punished this time to stay alive.
But this was a mere consolation as Kurz missed a shot at 52 and Clemens returned for double 16 and the win.
