Joe Cullen will return after Christmas to face Damon Heta once again after a superb display to see off Ricky Evans to complete the first half of the 2022/23 PDC World Darts Championship.
Cullen and Heta have history in particular their clash at the World Matchplay where 'The Rockstar' felt aggrieved for not being favourite and eased through in a statement win.
While in seeing off Evans to reach that point, it was a 3-1 win with seven 180's a piece with Cullen surging away in particular in the latter half of the tie to produce some of his scoring best.
It was a clinical start for Cullen who hit a 109 and 62 checkout as well as two 180's en route to sealing it 3-1.
Once again, it was right shots at the right times as Cullen produced a 104 checkout from there on double 14 to double his advantage and make it 2-0.
But Evans got better and better and snuck the third set to make it 2-1 with four 180's and 60% on the doubles.
Only for Cullen to cut short the revival. He went seven darts into a nine-dart finish but mopped it up with a 56 checkout on double 18 to claim it.
