Jose de Sousa claimed a maiden
European Tour title at the
European Darts Grand Prix with a superb victory over Michael van Gerwen.
De Sousa is now targeting further success after a brilliant weekend and admitted he now has the belief he can win anything. He also received some advice from Durrant ahead of his final against the world number one.
"To do this in one year is a dream. To win any PDC title is a dream because it's so, so difficult," said De Sousa.
"Of course it's different to win a title in front of a crowd, and I am happy to share this moment with the fans who have been amazing all weekend.
"This title is not just for me but for all the people who support me, my management and my family."
"He [Durrant] just said stay calm, do your job, play your game. He said 'you are the best player in the world at this moment.'
"I didn't believe that but now I believe that! I think I can do anything right now, it doesn't matter who I play against. I know I can do it and I have so much confidence in my game."
