De Zwaan on inevitable fall in ranking after first round defeat to Durrant: "I'm not too worried about that. I have just recovered from shoulder surgery"

Jeffrey de Zwaan lost out in the first round of the World Matchplay to Glen Durrant in an emphatic win for the three time Lakeside champion.

This included a 107 average and six 180's which by his own admission, De Zwaan couldn't live with in a tie which ended 10-3 in favour of Durrant.

“My first dart was always a bit above the treble 20, which made it difficult. Nevertheless, I had the feeling that I was not throwing so badly, only Glen reached such a high level that there was nothing I could do,” said De Zwaan at RTL 7.

Two years ago, De Zwaan reached the semi-finals on the World Matchplay, due to his early exit this year he will fall in the PDC Order of Merit.

“I'm not too worried about that. I have just recovered from shoulder surgery and will give myself until the end of the year to regain some form. I'm still only 24, so my best years are definitely ahead of me. ”
