Keith Deller will be one of the leading names involved in the inaugural World Seniors Darts Championship with the 1983 World Champion set to dust off his darts for the inaugural edition.
But with a lot of talk around the World Seniors, Deller has called for there to be a regular tour to keep the standard up.
"It will keep that competitive edge more so the standard will get better with everyone because they'll start thinking we've got another big tournament coming up because this is where the guys are lucky now with the floor tournaments.
"They're playing so many all through the year. They're playing tournaments nearly every month, we had say the World's then we might have to wait four months before the next tournament. It was a big gap."
"Getting the Tavern full is important because they've always supported I mean I've had a few nights on there when I've put the big guys on like Phil (Taylor), Raymond (van Barneveld) and a few of the boys and they've really supported it well. It's great because it's so small that they're on top of you."
"I remember years ago I played Peter Manley in the World Championship and I hit 180 and this guy shouted out Keith four more and my bet comes up and all of a sudden I went 180 next leg, I went there you are and I'm feeding off this guy on his bet."
Bigger than Seniors Tour in Snooker
Deller also discussed the lack of a World Seniors tour prior to this as well as his viewpoint on how it will be bigger than other sports with the same format.
"I think with the PDC and Barry (Hearn), his attitude was that you've had your day in the sun. Let's be sure that we've got the youngsters coming through. I understand that the Barry and the PDC weren't that bothered because they've got so much coming through. I think our figures would blow Snooker out the water, I think the names we've got are bigger. We've got so many champions."
