Dobey first through to semi-finals of 2023 Masters, dispatches Van Duijvenbode in superior doubling display

Chris Dobey will play in the semi-finals of the 2023 Masters on Sunday evening after seeing off Dirk van Duijvenbode 10-5 in Milton Keynes on Sunday afternoon.

Backing up a run to the Quarter-Finals of the World Championship, Dobey has been in superb form this weekend and will now have his eyes set on a maiden major final.

It was a superior display of doubling as despite only getting over the line on his sixth match dart, Van Duijvenbode missed 14 darts at double which proved vital in defeat.

To begin the tie, Dobey hit a 124 checkout to lead 2-1 and sat 3-2 up at the interval. He was behind post break but hit a 140 checkout to break and make it 4-4 before taking control from there.

He hit a 180 and 85 to 6-4 up and despite Van Duijvenbode hitting 125 on the bull to trail 7-5. Dobey was up to the task and pounced on five missed darts at double and went one away from victory at 9-5 before sealing the deal.
