Draw for World Matchplay 2019 set to take place on Tuesday afternoon

The draw for the World Matchplay is set to take place on Tuesday afternoon it has been revealed. It will be broadcast live on Sky Sports News in the UK.

Michael van Gerwen leads this year's field with the Dutchman still favourite despite looking vulnerable in TV events this year. He will be eager to set the record straight in Blackpool.

Gary Anderson is the defending World Matchplay champion but has not been playing a lot this year due to injury so it will be tough for him to defend the title. We will also see seven new names in the draw; this includes the likes of Glen Durrant and Jamie Hughes who only six months ago were starting off on the tour.

Krzysztof Ratajski and Ricky Evans are also among the debutants with both seriously impressing on the tour this year. This means it will be tougher for the seeded players than ever this time out.
