Edgar claims first World Championship win with superb straight sets win over Kuivenhoven

Matthew Edgar has claimed his first win in the PDC World Darts Championship with a superb straight sets victory over Maik Kuivenhoven.

Edgar donned a Hulk Hogan inspired shirt and sent the Edgar Nation running wild with 75% on the doubles the highlight for 'Prime Time' who will now face Mensur Suljovic.

He started well with a 108 break of throw in the opening leg which took him to an opening set win 3-0 with 100% on the doubles as well as two 180's for the Daventry ace.

More brilliant finishing saw Edgar claim the second set with a 3-1 set win capped off with a 112 checkout.

Kuivenhoven failed to finish 83 to draw level in the next set and Edgar stole a break with a 54 checkout to go one away.

He left 48 with a 140 with Kuivenhoven on 94 and the Dutchman busted it and Edgar smashed in a 48 checkout to win through.
