Richard Veenstra got himself a PDC
Tour Card at the weekend despite losing in the final to Robbie Knops in the Day Four final. There was a huge amount of relief from the Dutchman in the post tournament interview with the PDC.
“Finally! Its difficult to get that card and there are
so many good players here. The whole week you need that bit of luck, you have to
play good and every time you miss that double you’re making it harder to get
that Tour Card.”
They had both already qualified for their Tour Card's before the final concluding a stressful, intense week with a more relaxed game of darts.
Before his match with Knops Veenstra said he was pleased that he could. "Just relax and throw your darts.'' Which is what they did. The Dutch finalist finished off the week by finishing second in the EU Q-School Order of Merit winning 100 legs.
