The 24th Players Championship tournament of the season gets underway Tuesday from 1 p.m. at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan. A field of 128 players will compete for the day's victory.
Participants include a number of the biggest names in the sport including Luke Humphries, Michael Smith, Dave Chisnall, Jonny Clayton, Gary Anderson, Dimitri van den Bergh, Stephen Bunting, Joe Cullen, Rob Cross, Raymond van Barneveld and more.

A total of 125,000 pounds in prize money is distributed at each Players Championship tournament. The winner of the event will receive a check for 15,000 pounds.

- What’s with the dogs element to this story, trying to pull at the heart strings? Just goes to show that being a good dart player does not equate to being that bright. Seriously, ‘I thought you didn’t have to pay tax on winnings’ , your a pro dart player and its your line of work, your not playing the lottery or placing a bet. - The thing is... the folks who "humiliated" Taylor in the Seniors Events never really achieved anything in the important events - like Taylor did. - I have known Gemma for many years and can't believe she has never played at the World Championship, very talented and showed lots of potential. Her girlfriend Stephanie Smee made the World Championship semi final but just seemed to disappear and she was excellent that year, very unlucky to have been beaten by Anastasia.
