Gulliver on PDC Women's World Matchplay announcement: "It's about time something was more structural"

10-time Women's World Champion, Trina Gulliver MBE made her return to the oche after returning from documented issues away from the sport to play at the World Seniors Darts Championship.

Speaking before losing to Robert Thornton, Gulliver said it was about getting that competitive edge back.

"I'm just trying to ease myself back into it and see how it goes and I'll be trying my hardest," said Gulliver to Tungsten Tales.

Another opportunity Gulliver could take hold of is the Women's World Matchplay as a result of the PDC Women's Series which 'The Golden Girl' wants to take hold of.

"It's a great opportunity for us all, it's about time something was more structural. It's been a long time coming but the PDC have taken hold of it and the PDC they're giving us something to run with and we've got to support it and give it a go."

"They've tried it in the past but now's the right time. You've got Fallon and Lisa up there competing against the men and showing we can so to have this platform to move forward is great. Fair play to the PDC and Sky Sports for having insight to do that."
