Deta Hedman will make her
PDC World Darts Championship debut on Saturday when she takes on Andy Boulton and admitted when it was confirmed she 'cried like a baby'.
Hedman who has won 215 titles in her career is a true trailblazer for Ladies Darts and will hope to add another notch to her resume when she takes on 'X Factor'.
'The Heart of Darts' who won through by only two legs ahead of Fallon Sherrock on the PDC Women's Series Order of Merit spoke about her thought process at the time.
"My 61st birthday was coming up so I just went [to the qualifier] to get some money," said Hedman to BBC Sport.
"I didn't have any expectation whatsoever. [Tournament director] Graham Fairhurst came over and told me I had qualified by two legs. I said: 'Don't be winding me up because I won't be happy.'
"I had this towel and I just put my head in it and cried like a baby."
"I will enjoy every moment. It's no pressure. I just take it in my stride. There is no point putting pressure on yourself. I am excited about it."
