Highest average for Gary Anderson at Players Championship 25 as staggering form continues

The 25th Players Championship of the year was a triumph for Chris Dobey. ‘Hollywood’ beat Stephen Bunting 8-3 in the final.

However, the highest average was not for Dobey, but rather for Gary Anderson for the second day in a row. ‘The Flying Scotsman’ beat Joe Cullen 6-2 in the last 32, posting an average of 112.66. Anderson eventually reached the last 16 after a 6-3 defeat to Andrew Gilding.

Ryan Joyce provided the second highest average of the day. The Englishman was 6-2 too strong for Damon Heta at the last 16, averaging 112.53. Joyce then went down 6-4 against Daryl Gurney in the quarter-finals.

The top three is completed by Heta. ‘The Heat’ beat Dom Taylor 6-1 in the last 64, posting an average of 109.16.

Today, the 26th Players Championship of the year is finished in Wigan.
