Gary Anderson surges into top three of Players Championship Order of Merit as Nijman also rises

The Players Championship Order of Merit has been updated after Event 24 which was won by Wessel Nijman on Tuesday.

Leading the rankings is Chris Dobey, who stands at 76,000 pounds in prize money after 24 of 30 Players Championship tournaments. Damon Heta follows in second place with £70,000, while Gary Anderson (£68,500) and Luke Littler (£66,500) follow behind. Anderson in particular is now in the top three after previously being 5th.

Nijman made a big jump on the Players Championship Order of Merit after surprisingly winning the 24th Players Championship tournament of the season on Tuesday.

Nijman was ranked 24th prior to the tournament, but has now risen to 12th position. His title in Wigan earned him £15,000 for the various rankings. The Dutchman passed his compatriots including Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld.

At the end of the season, the top-64 of the Players Championship Order of Merit may compete in the Players Championship Finals in Minehead. Two more Players Championship tournaments will be played this week. Later this month, the final four Players Championships will be completed.
