Home heroes sent packing as Bunting and Heta see off Van Duijvenbode and Van Peer at Dutch Darts Championship

Only Michael van Gerwen and Danny Noppert who plays next now remain at the Dutch Darts Championship in Leeuwarden in terms of home hopes.

Dirk van Duijvenbode and Berry van Peer have been sent packing on Sunday afternoon with no tumble on the oche this time from 'The Titan' but one out of the tournament as he lost out to Stephen Bunting.

It was a superb display from Bunting who hit a 100.2 average and 60% on the doubles to silence the crowd winning 6-4.

He completed it in style with a 116 checkout after initially spurning a 3-1 and 5-3 lead over Van Duijvenbode albeit the latter did not get a chance to force a decider with Bunting producing a 180 followed by the ton plus checkout.

While Heta brushed aside Van Peer in a 6-1 win with a truly dominant display from the in-form Heat who has timed an upturn in form with his superb walk-ons.

It was a 96 average, four 180's and 54.5% on the doubles against the Dutch Open champion as all eyes now shift towards Noppert next up to keep home hopes still fully alive.
