Since his switch from rugby to darts a decade ago now, Gerwyn Price has proven himself one of the most talented darters of his generation. No stranger to controversy however, the Welshman has often casted doubt on his future in the sport. In a recent Q&A with PDC Europe, Price opened up on his plans.
First question though, was does Price prefer the new or the old format of Premier League Darts. "I prefer the old," he answers firmly. "I just think with the schedule and the amount of games, it was just better for the players."
At the past World Darts Championship, Price went out disappointingly in the third round after a defeat to Brendan Dolan. "I don't think I played particularly well," the Iceman admits. "I played alright but not at my ultimate best."
Now, for the talk of his future. "Do you already know when you want to quit darts?" Price is asked. "I don't think I'll ever quit but I will start to slow down in about six or seven years time. But I'll never hang my darts up so to speak, I'll just keep going as long as I can."
