Dave Chisnall starts the World Grand Prix in top form. The 43-year-old Englishman won the Hungarian Darts Trophy just last weekend and was also successful at a Players Championship last week.

Chisnall is still waiting for a first major victory after losing six major finals in the past. “I think I’m due a big title with the way I’m playing,” said 'Chizzy'. "It is hard enough to win a ProTour, never mind a TV tournament, but I believe it is going to come one day, and hopefully it comes this week."

In 2013 and 2019, Chisnall was a losing finalist at the World Grand Prix. “People used to say I couldn’t hit doubles, but when I go into this tournament I seem to hit my starting double pretty well."

Chisnall takes on Luke Woodhouse in his opening match. "Luke is a good player. I helped him qualify last week by beating Scott Williams [in Budapest], but I’m just going to relax and play the board, not the player.”
