"If I lose the next game then I'll move on, I'll go to Q-School" - Radek Szaganski not feeling the pressure despite Tour Card being on the line in upcoming match against Raymond van Barneveld

Radek Szaganski has secured himself a second round date with Raymond van Barneveld at the World Darts Championship thanks to a 3-2 over Marko Kantele.

Not at his best, Szaganski had to battle hard to keep not only World Championship alive, but also his hopes of retaining his Tour Card. "A win is a win and that's the most important thing right now," began the Pole in his post-match press conference. "It was difficult, but the last set I said 'this is my set.' So yeah, happy with the win."

A big reason Szaganski qualified for his debut World Championships was the fact he surprisingly won a Pro Tour event towards the year. "The win on the Pro Tour gave me a big boost. It makes you want to practice more and more and become better and better," the 44-year-old explains.

To have any hope of retaining his Tour Card, Szaganski needs to beat former five-time world champion, Raymond van Barneveld in his next match. A big step up on the level he showed in beating Kantele will be needed to test 'Barney' you would think.

"If I lose the next game then I'll move on, I'll go to Q-School. I've won it there once so I can do it again," he assesses. "I'm looking forward to it, we'll see what happens. I have a one day break now to enjoy this win first, then tomorrow I will start to think about the second game."
