Indian darter replaced and must miss World Darts Championship due to suspension

The draw for the PDC World Darts Championship was missing the name of Prakash Jiwa, the winner of the qualifying tournament for darters from India. 'The Apache' recently appeared in the news for possible involvement in a match-fixing case.

Jiwa is suspected of this during matches in the MODUS Super Series. For this, Jiwa was suspended by the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) disciplinary committee, but Jiwa could appeal that decision.

It is not known whether the Indian actually did so and whether that appeal was subsequently denied. However, it was clear that Jiwa was no longer welcome at the World Darts Championship. His spot will be taken by Bhaval Patel. He lost to Jiwa in the final of the qualifying tournament.
