Josh Rock has been imperious on the Development Tour this season after his brilliant first year on the ProTour and this has been bookended by reaching the final of the PDC World Youth Championship.
There Rock will play Nathan Girvan at the Players Championship Finals which he will already play due to the ProTour but he becomes the fifth player to reach the final on debut of the World Youth.
Some have had mixed success with James Hubbard back in 2012 being a perfect example of a player who didn't kick on.
Nathan Aspinall in 2015 became a major champion and recently was a major finalist, while Corey Cadby reached the final of the UK Open after emerging in 2016 but had to relinquish his Tour Card and has tried to make comebacks since to no avail.
Adam Gawlas was the most recent example in 2019 with the Czech ace currently on the tour but not having the success of for example Rock.
