Ryan Joyce saw off Danny Baggish in a 6-5 win recovering from 4-2 down at the World Series of Darts Finals but after not playing for most of the year on TV, it wasn't something 'Relentless' was prepared for.
"I'm just happy to win. Winning is the most important thing but obviously not very happy with the performance. I will put it down to a lack of stage practice recently, I've only played one European Tour all year and I wasn't really mentally prepared for how I'd feel up there," said Joyce to Online Darts.
"I've had injuries this year that have prevented us from practicing and playing the way I want to but I'm back to full fitness now and practicing again so hopefully I keep my Tour Card and kick on next year."
Next up is Dimitri van den Bergh, a player who surprisingly he has never met in the PDC.
"I showed what I can do in a couple of legs tonight, it's there somewhere. I'm going to have to put it all together to defeat Dimitri probably, this'll be the first time I've played him in the PDC so it'll be nice to finally play him but at the end of the day, I've got to be confident that if I turn up with my A-game tomorrow I can push him."
