Kuivenhoven admits nerves a factor during Edgar defeat: "I wasn't relaxed enough on stage"

Maik Kuivenhoven's debut in the PDC World Darts Championship didn't go successfully with a 3-0 defeat to Matthew Edgar.

Kuivenhoven spoke to RTL7 Darts afterwards and admitted that nerves played a big factor.

“I wasn't relaxed enough on stage,” he said. "As a result, the darts don't go where I want them to go."

Edgar repeatedly punished Kuivenhoven's misses. "There was too much tension", Kuivenhoven continues. "If you get opportunities, you have to take them."

In any case, the goal for the coming year is clear: "Be here again next year, that's what we're going for", he concluded.
