Lauby claims PDC World Championship spot as CDC set to resume in Canada & USA

Danny Lauby will make his PDC World Championship debut as the CDC is set to resume in Canada & USA with the final spots in both the showpiece event and World Cup of Darts up for grabs.

Lauby will qualify due to a lack of North American Championship this year, the CDC Continental Cup winner as a result has claimed his spot through that route.

There will now be two events in Canada & USA to tie up the final spots. The former will take place in Woodstock, Ontario on September 26-27 with one place alongside Jeff Smith in the World Cup of Darts available. As well as one spot in the World Championship.

USA's World Cup team is less secure with both spots available for players at the World Cup of Darts over October 3-4 as well as a further World Championship place.

World Cup qualification will see points earned in the four events added to the players' 2019 total on the CDC Order of Merit.

For World Championship places, the selection will be based on performances across those four events alone, with the leading player in Canada and the USA progressing to compete at Alexandra Palace.
