There is nothing wrong with
Luke Humphries' form, the reigning world champion proved that once again on Saturday night at an exhibition event in Northampton, where many fans had descended on the event to see some of the top darters in action.
In addition to Humphries, Joe Cullen,
Nathan Aspinall and
Ricky Evans were also in attendance as was darting legend
Bobby George. 'The King of Bling' did his famous walk-on and took time for a chat with the fans. Humphries, Cullen, Aspinall and Evans threw some legs against amateur darters and played one exhibition match against each other. Aspinall took on Cullen. It was 'The Rockstar' who prevailed 4-2. Here Cullen recorded an average of 91.81 and he threw two 180 scores.
The top affair of the evening was that between Humphries and home player Evans, who lives near the playing venue in Northampton. However, 'Rapid Ricky' didn't stand a chance against 'Cool Hand Luke'. The world number one won 5-1 thanks to an average of 109.15.
Aspinall sings along with own walk on song
One of the highlights of the evening was the walk on by Aspinall, who took the stage with sing-along Mr. Brightside by The Killers. From the hands of mastercaller Paul Booth, "The Asp" was even handed a microphone, to which Aspinall decided to sing along.
Line-up for 2025 announced
Organizers of the demonstration event also announced that it will return to the English city Northampton in 2025. Humphries and Evans will be back at that time, while Luke Littler, Fallon Sherrock and Beau Greaves are also set to compete.
