Martin Schindler could do little against Gerwyn Price at the
World Grand Prix on Friday night. The German lost 3-0 in sets to 'The Iceman' and managed to put just one leg on the scoreboard.
''This is not the result I had in mind,'' Schindler responded on Facebook afterwards. ''I fell below my own expectations and below the level I normally achieve. Still, I take with me a lot of positive and nice experiences from the past 10 days in England.''
Schindler did provide a milestone, as his wins over Raymond van Barneveld and Stephen Bunting made him the first German player ever to reach the last eight at the World Grand Prix.
''For me, reaching the quarterfinals means a lot, even though I only won two matches. Performing on such a stage under this pressure and conditions is anything but easy,'' Schindler said.
