Danny Noppert has opened his campaign at this year's PDC World Darts Championship with a 3-1 sets win over World Seniors Darts Master, David Cameron.
Noppert will return after Christmas to face Alan Soutar with the ninth seed having 'High Hopes' to make a statement during this year's tournament to stake a claim for the Premier League after his UK Open win earlier in the season.
In victory, 'The Freeze' sealed it with a 95 average, six 180's and 57.9% on the outer ring in a solid display in a tie he had a chance to win at 2-0.
It was a solid start for Noppert who eased through the opening set 3-1 averaging 101.5.
He broke to start set two with the biggest checkout he hit in the tie in 115 and went 2-1 up with a 72 checkout on double 20 and despite a not so clinical end to the leg with a 21-darter, he faced no dramas.
Continuing he missed one match dart at double 20 and Cameron who himself was around the 50% mark on the outer ring made no mistake with a 100 checkout in the deciding leg and prolong the tie.
But after a 12-darter to open, it was fairly comfortable for Noppert who concluded on double 20 for the win at 3-1.
