Steve Beaton back on June 17, 2017.
Exactly four years ago today, Steve Beaton won his fourth PDC title at the age of 53 and it was the first ranking triumph for the popular 'Bronzed Adonis' since 2013, when he won a European Tour title.
It was the 13th Players Championship event of that season with the likes of Kevin Painter, Ronnie Baxter, Mark Webster and Richie Burnett still Tour Card holders.
He defeated Matthew Dennant (6-0), Keegan Brown (6-4) and Robert Owen (6-2) to begin proceedings. Before then defeating Dave Chisnall 6-4 and then Kirk Shepherd 6-0 in the Quarter-Finals.
His two big tasks awaited though, first of all Rob Cross who back then was in his first year as a Tour Card holder winning 6-3. As well as Gary Anderson who he defeated in the final 6-3 with an average of 107, hitting a 125 finish and a 12-darter en route to victory.
