Devon Petersen will be involved this weekend as the
European Tour returns with the
Hungarian Darts Trophy in Budapest and 'The African Warrior' is keen on putting in a good display.
"Coming to Hungary is a fantastic opportunity," said Petersen, speaking to Hungarian media. "The PDC and PDC Europe are exploring these new destinations, and if you look at the standard over the previous European Tours, you can see the standard increasing.
"With every event, it just gets better and you can see that the European events now are mimicking the major events.
Good for the future of darts in Hungary
'The African Warrior' is full of praise for the standard on the European Tour and hopes for similar not only from the big names this weekend.
"The people that are in the back-end of the tournaments are generally the guys that perform the best over the majors as well.
"It's almost a curtain-raiser to your major events and a spectacle; you've got Peter Wright just coming off a victory at the World Matchplay - he's been playing really well - and you've got Gerwyn Price, Joe Cullen, Michael Smith, Nathan Aspinall, Jose de Sousa, all of these top quality players coming to Hungary and showing their talent.
"They'll give people in Hungary an opportunity to see what the players could mimic and grow the sport further in Hungary."
