Price after edging past Clemens to reach UK Open Quarter-Finals: “It's a nice birthday present for me”

Gerwyn Price is through to the Quarter-Finals of the 2020 UK Open Darts after seeing off Gabriel Clemens.
Price produced a clutch 11 darter to claim the victory over the in-form German and he will next face off against Dimitri Van den Bergh and the birthday boy spoke about the difference between him and Clemens.
"It's a nice birthday present for me!” said Price.
"I've played well in all three games I've played so far but in the first two I took my chances. I missed some doubles early on against Gabriel and he got in front of me.
"He was full of confidence and played well but I stuck in there and I'm thankful that I had such a good last leg. I'm through and I can look forward to Sunday now."

- As prize money increases each year and there are now more tournaments then logically breaking the £2 million barrier is going to happen, only thing preventing it is the now deeper strength in depth of the darting field. If you took Taylor’s best two consecutive years and substituted the prize money from now onto the tournaments he won he would have passed the £2 million.Mysstree26-11-2024
