Van Gerwen confident after brilliant Wade win: “I want to do some more damage from here”

Michael van Gerwen is through to the Quarter-Finals at the UK Open where he will face off against Rob Cross.
This comes after an ominous victory over James Wade in which he hit a 109 average, six 180’s and 71 percent on his doubles. While MVG knows the task isn’t done yet, he has massive confidence as per usual.
"There's still a lot of work to do and I need to keep my focus because I want to win this tournament," said Van Gerwen.
"I made it difficult for myself this afternoon but I'm very happy with my performance tonight.
"I feel good and I want to build from here. They all still want to beat me but so far I'm playing a good tournament and I want to do some more damage from here."

- As prize money increases each year and there are now more tournaments then logically breaking the £2 million barrier is going to happen, only thing preventing it is the now deeper strength in depth of the darting field. If you took Taylor’s best two consecutive years and substituted the prize money from now onto the tournaments he won he would have passed the £2 million.Mysstree26-11-2024
