Gerwyn Price produced an incredible display to defeat Callan Rydz and reach the Quarter-Finals of the UK Open.
Price saw his rivals including Peter Wright, Jonny Clayton, Michael van Gerwen and others all head out but it wasn't on his mind saying he was the best player in the field to start with anyway so it was up to him.
"I didn't really mind what Peter did, I knew I wanted to come here and win this tournament anyway. But it's a little bit less pressure, as long as I get to the final I keep that spot but I'm here to win," said Price post match.
"I was the best player in the field from the beginning so it doesn't matter. I'm still World Number One, Peter's a World Champ so we're both up there battling. It's a good fight but there's so many good players left in the tournament so we have to be on our A game."
Next up will be Michael Smith who Price was expecting to draw. "I said I was playing Smithy before a ball was drawn out. I probably jinxed myself a bit but yeah it's going to be a good game."
He also spoke about being fuelled by having to reach certain points to keep his World Number One status.
"In the European, it fuelled me 100%, I knew I had to go out and win and I did and I knew I had to stay in this tournament right up to the final. It fills you full of confidence and fuels me to stay in the tournament."
