Gerwyn Price will renew his rivalry with Michael van Gerwen shortly after thrashing Gordon Mathers to reach the final of the Queensland Darts Masters.
Price went 6-0 up in a finishing masterclass and Mathers only sealed a sole leg to prolong the tie as the World Number One showed his class with a 7-1 win with a 98.4 average and 7/9 on the outer ring.
Aiming to get it done in double quick time, Price went berserk on the finishing. He surged into a 2-0 lead with finishes of 80 and 98 following that up with a 131 checkout using two double 20's.
It was soon 4-0 with a 125 checkout to add to his resume. Mathers was powerless to stop 'The Iceman' and he went one away.
But he would have the tie prolonged with Mathers getting a leg on the board at 6-1 down and an interval taking place as a result. There were no issues though on return with a 180 and 80 checkout sealing it.
