Rock confident after winning PDC World Youth Championship with record average: "What happens when I'm World Champion at the end of the year"

Josh Rock eased past Nathan Girvan 6-1 to seal the PDC World Youth Championship with a record average of 104 in doing so and he is confident now of giving his best shot to do the double next month.

"I feel fantastic. Practicing everything wasn't going to plan to be honest, for a couple of hours I was like what am I going to do here. Then as soon as Rob (Cross) came back from his break, everything started clicking," said Rock to Online Darts.

"To average 104 in a final, I know it was only a Youth final but what happens when I'm World Champion at the end of the year. If I keep playing like that, I can make a few scares."

This after turning up on Friday to much fan fare but losing to Cameron Menzies in a day in which many of the top names were beaten.

"Cammy played fantastic against me, I gave him respect for that. I didn't play great but I knew I had to up my game against Nathan as I knew what could happen because Nathan can turn around and hit 118 averages, two nine-darters this year. For him not having a Tour Card, it's phenomenal."

Speaking of his Ally Pally ambition, he said he is not scared of anyone so why shouldn't he dare to dream.

"I know I can because I'm not scared, I go up there and play my own game. It's the same as everybody else but at the same time, there's no pressure on me, I'm here to enjoy myself as long as I can."
