Josh Rock has won the 16th event of the year on the resumption of the PDC Development Tour. It is for 'Rocky' his third youth title of the season.
The Northern Irishman reached the final after victories over Jarred Cole (4-2), James Beeton (4-1), Jitse van der Wal (5-2) and Sebastian Bialecki (5-0). Rock then excelled in the final by beating Dylan Dowling 5-0 thanks to an average of 112.
The Development Tour is the youth circuit of the PDC. This tour is open to players aged 16 to 23. Players who turn 24 during the season may continue to participate.
The circuit of the PDC Development Tour will consist of 24 tournaments in 2022. Last year there was a separate tour for British and European players due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this year both have been merged again.
At each Development Tour tournament there is a prize fund of £10,000 to be shared. A ranking is drawn up with the prize money. At the end of the season, the numbers one and two will receive an invitation to the World Darts Championship, plus a Tour Card for 2023 and 2024.
