Ross Smith hits new record for 180's in a group match at the Grand Slam of Darts

Ross Smith shattered a 180 record Tuesday night with his fantastic match against Michael van Gerwen at the Grand Slam of Darts.

An important role in Smith's victory over Van Gerwen was played by the many 180's 'Smudger' managed to produce. No fewer than nine times he produced them which is a new record in the group stage of the Grand Slam of Darts.

With that, the record was set a lot sharper, because never were there more than seven 180-scores thrown in the group stage. The old record was shared by Gary Anderson, Gerwyn Price and Simon Whitlock.
