The
Premier League Darts will head to Leeds on Thursday evening where the ninth week of action will be completed. Only seven players have travelled to Leeds, because Gary Anderson is at home due to a COVID-19 infection.
Michael van Geerwen should have played Anderson on Thursday evening, but has now received a bye. The Dutchman will meet Michael Smith or Peter Wright in the last four.
Joe Cullen locks horns with Jonny Clayton, after which James Wade and Gerwyn Price battle for the last spot in the last four. The semi-finals and final will be played later in the evening.
New format
The eight participants play a tournament sixteen times. It will be arranged so that a player meets the other participants twice in the quarter-finals. During two weeks of play, in the eighth and sixteenth week, the draw is determined by league standings heading into each night.
Points can be scored with results in the sixteen tournaments. A semi-final earns two points, a second place three points and a tournament win five points and a £10,000 bonus. Based on these points the new Premier League Darts ranking is formed. The four best players advance to the Premier League Darts play-offs.
