On Thursday, the eighth finals of the PDC Europe Super League will be played at the Halle 39 in Hildesheim. The remaining 16 players managed to get through the pool phase and will continue to compete for a spot at the World Darts Championship.
The matches at the last sixteen are determined by the positions of the players in the pool stage. As a result, four Tour Card holders play against each other. Pascal Rupprecht will take on Daniel Klose and Lukas Wenig will play Paul Krohne.
Dragutin Horvat faces off with Steven Noster for a place in the quarterfinals, while Leon Weber faces Arno Merk. For Franz Roetzsch, René Eidams is the next opponent.
Max Hopp finished third in his group and must now face Kai Gotthardt, who finished top in his group. Dominik Grüllich faces Andree Welge. The latter finished as number four in his group, but as the best performing number four was allowed to advance to the last sixteen of the PDC Europe Super League.
The final match of the round of 16 will be played between Kevin Troppmann and Liam Maendl-Lawrance. The latter is already qualified for the WDF World Championship at Lakeside. If Maendl-Lawrance manages to win the PDC Europe Super League then he will have to draw a line under participation at Lakeside. After all, the PDC does not allow a player to compete in both world championships.
The matches at the last sixteen will all be played on Thursday. Friday is the denouement of the PDC Europe Super League with the quarterfinals, semifinals and final, respectively.
