We will kick off the seventh
European Tour tournament of the season on Friday. Some of the best darters in the world will be on display at the
Dutch Darts Championship 2024 in Rosmalen this weekend.
Dutch fans will have plenty of opportunity to cheer on their countrymen on the opening day. On the first day of the Dutch Darts Championship, as many as ten Dutch players will appear on stage and a number on notable names such as
James Wade,
Raymond van Barneveld,
Andrew Gilding and
Dimitri van den Bergh among others.
The afternoon will get underway with a tie between Dom Taylor and Jose De Sousa. There is also a Dutch showdown between Christian Kist and Marvin van Velzen, who managed to get through
the Host Nation Qualifier on Thursday. Niels Zonneveld opens his tournament against Haupai Puha, while the afternoon session concludes with a meeting between Damian Mol and Andrew Gilding. Ritchie Edhouse, Brendan Dolan and William O'Connor are other familiar names playing their opening match in the afternoon session.
Jeffrey de Graaf plays his first Euro Tour tournament of the season at the Dutch Darts Championship
The evening program is even better. Starting with eleven-time major winner James Wade, who takes on Finnish qualifier Teemu Harju. After that, Moreno Blom makes his Euro Tour debut against Ryan Joyce. Then there is a Dutch-Belgian showdown between Kevin Doets and Mike de Decker. In the fourth match of the evening, it is the turn of Joe Cullen and Jermaine Wattimena, who may enter the Dutch Darts Championship as a substitute.
Ryan Meikle and Luke Woodhouse play each other next, before Raymond van Barneveld takes the stage for his match against Cameron Menzies. Next, Dirk van Duijvenbode crosses swords with Callan Rydz. At the end of the evening Dimitri van den Bergh and Gabriel Clemens battle for the last spot in the second round of this Euro Tour tournament.
The top-16 on the seeding list will not be in action on Friday. Dave Chisnall, Damon Heta, Gerwyn Price, Danny Noppert, Michael van Gerwen, Josh Rock, Ross Smith, Ryan Searle, Stephen Bunting, Martin Schindler, Peter Wright, Chris Dobey, Ricardo Pietreczko, Gian van Veen, Daryl Gurney and Jonny Clayton are directly seeded for the second round. On Saturday, Friday's 16 winners will play against one of the top 16 players. Sunday afternoon the third round will then be played, before the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals take place on Sunday night.
TV and live stream
The tournament will be broadcast by PDC TV. As usual with Euro Tour tournaments, the Dutch Darts Championship consists of three tournament days. The afternoon sessions start daily at 12:00, while the evening sessions start at 18:00.
The first round will take place on Friday. The 16 Order of Merit qualifiers and the winners from the various qualifying tournaments then make their appearance. The top-16 seeded players enter the tournament on Saturday in the second round.
Sunday will see the conclusion of the tournament, starting with the third round in the afternoon session. Sunday evening will be followed by the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals.
Distribution of prize money
At the Dutch Euro Tour tournament, a total of £175,000 in prize money will be divided among the 48 participants. They will receive at least £1250 in starting money. The top-16 seeded players who enter the Dutch Darts Championship from the second round will receive 2,500 pounds anyway.
They do - like the 16 Order of Merit qualifiers starting in the first round - have to win their first match in order for the prize money to count toward the world rankings and the other rankings. The winner of the Dutch Darts Championship 2024 will ultimately go home with the top prize of 30,000 pounds.
