Martin Schindler went down 6-5 against Danny Noppert in the second round of the Dutch Darts Championship in Zwolle on Saturday afternoon.
Both players were particularly strong on their own legs, so a decisive eleventh leg was needed to determine a winner. Noppert, who missed two match darts in the tenth leg, was allowed to start the last leg and used this advantage with an 18-darter.
"It was a great day in Zwolle today, but unfortunately I lost to Danny Noppert. He played fantastic and I tried to give everything I could against him. Unfortunately, little things were the reason for the defeat, but that's the level I want to go to and those are the players I want to compete with," said Schindler on Facebook.
"It's been a busy month overall, a lot of travelling and a lot of tournaments, but what you don't do for your passion. I'm really grateful that I get to live this life!"
