Searle survives late resolve from Gawlas to seal straight sets win at PDC World Darts Championship

Ryan Searle will return to the World Darts Championship after the Christmas break. 'Heavy Metal' triumphed 3-0 in sets against Adam Gawlas in the second round on Thursday afternoon.

Two of the three sets did go over the full five legs. Searle was alert in the fifth leg of the first set by throwing an 80 finish to take the set. Then set two was a 3-1 win for Searle.

He then got to 2-1 in the third set, but then missed a matchdart from 79. Searle counted on being allowed to return, but Gawlas hit 150 from nowhere for 2-2. Searle then took the win in the following leg to prove it to be a mere consolation.
