This Chisnall has convincingly qualified for the last sixteen of the
Masters. 'Chizzy' was too strong for Martin Schindler in the first round, 6-1.
Although Schindler was far from poor, averaging 103 himself, the German was simply outplayed by Chisnall at his brilliant best averaging 109. “I don’t think the scoreline reflected the game,” 'Chizzy' said afterwards however. “Martin missed a few chances and let me in, and my doubles were really good tonight."
"You have to reach this level to win tournaments, especially when you see what someone like Luke Littler has been doing the last few weeks," Chisnall continues. “Since the World Championship, I’ve been practising for three hours every day, and it’s starting to pay off now, so I’m happy.”
Chisnall's relationship with Littler actually goes back further than many would realise. "I've known Luke for a long time, my brother told me I should sponsor him. I said 'Nah,'" laughs the two-time Masters finalist.
The 43-year-old Englishman will take on Danny Noppert in the last sixteen today.
