Michael Smith returned to winning ways in the Premier League last night after capitulating against Nathan Aspinall defeating Daryl Gurney this time around.
Smith was glad in a way not to produce his best as he said afterwards that it is those games that get him beaten and he also spoke about the toll the defeat to Aspinall took on him.
"Happy with the win. 50/50 with the game but I've played two mint games and I've come off losing so it's nice to know that the B game is still good enough. It's just the B+ and A+ that are losing me matches because everyone seems to turn up so I'm happy," said Smith to Online Darts post match.
"Last night killed me. I was texting the Mrs saying I was finished and done but luckily enough I dug deep tonight and took my chances. I gave him a few chances and lucky enough for me, he did what I normally do and not take them."
"Didn't get to sleep till 5 in the morning, and it weren't a nice place. Got in the room and I felt like Hulk Hogan, I felt like ripping my shirt off. Soon as I woke up this morning, it's a different day."
