Stowe Buntz wins CDC Continental Cup and qualifies for Grand Slam of Darts

Stowe Buntz took the overall victory at the CDC Continental Cup in New York on Saturday. This allows the American to compete at the Grand Slam of Darts in November, and qualifies him for the US Darts Masters in 2024.

Originally, the winner was only to receive a ticket to the US Darts Masters. However, Jeff Smith had won the North American Championship earlier this year but, as a Tour Card holder, was not eligible for an invitation to the Grand Slam of Darts because "The Silencer" was no longer in his first Tour Card year.

The Continental Cup had started Friday with sixteen players. There, Buntz won 5-2 over Jake Macmillan with an average of over 104. On Saturday were the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals.

Buntz began the final day with a 6-2 win over Larry Butler and then was too strong for Jacob Taylor (7-2). He then settled with Jason Brandon (8-6) in the final. This makes it a lucrative fall season for Buntz, as he also previously qualified for the World Darts Championship via the CDC Tour.
