''Swiss Co Stompé'' signs contract at manufacturer Loxley Darts

Darts manufacturer Loxley Darts has recruited Marcel Walpen as a new player. The Swiss player will play his matches with Loxley darts equipment in the future.

Walpen has only been active on the PDC circuit for over a year, having previously made a name for himself mainly in soft-tip. He recently made his debut on the European Tour, whilst Walpen will make his debut at the World Cup of Darts in June. At that tournament, he will represent his country together with Stefan Bellmont in a potentially dangerous duo.

Besides Walpen, John Part, Keith Deller, Ryan Searle, Jules van Dongen, Matthew Edgar, Davy Proosten, Christian Kist, Ronny Huybrechts and Ryan de Vreede, among others, are under contract to Loxley Darts.

Walpen's official nickname is ''Cello'', but he has also been given another nickname by some followers on social media. Because of his outward resemblance to Co Stompé, Walpen is also called the ''Swiss Stompé''.
